Short Story: Colleen Farabaugh swims to three 1st place finishes but the Lady Barons fall to the Pioneers

How it Happened 

Alfred State opened up the meet by winning the 200 yard medley relay by 10 seconds over Franciscan. The Pioneers continued their strong swimming by taking first, second and third place in the 200 yard freestyle. Colleen Farabaugh gave the Lady Barons their first win as she took first in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:06.14. Katie Cunninghma took a second place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:18.93. Maris Bey earned a second place finish in the 50 yard freestyle, losing by 0.14 of a second, by posting a time of 28.34. Bey followed that up with a third place finish in the 100 yard freestyle.

The Lady Barons would start to make a come back as they won the next three events. Colleen Farabaugh won the 500 yard freestlye and 200 yard IM. Katie Cunningham won the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:13.96. In the last event, the relay team of Angeline McCown, Katherine Kennedy, Evelyn Nick and Maris Bey came in second in the 200 yard freestyle relay.

The Lady Barons return home to prepare for a quad meet on Saturday the 18th at home. Washington and Jefferson, Hiram and Ursuline will be coming into town for the meet at the Steubenville Natoturium at 1pm
