How it Happened
- Heidelberg would take control early on in this one, as five different players would score in the first 10 minutes to give the Student Princes a 5-0 lead. Maria Hilkert would end the run as she scored an unassisted goal. The Lady Barons would allow two more goals, before scoring three goals in the final three minutes. Hilkert assisted on one to Maureen Cain. Sophomore Grace Deegan scored a pair with the second being a free position goal. It would appear that the Lady Barons had some momentum heading into the break.Â
- No one would score in the first ten minutes of play, until a Franciscan turnover led to a quick Heidelberg goal. Less then 30 seconds later, a penalty led to a free position goal by the Student Princes. Emmy Flootman-Mullen scored those tow goals, and she would score two more this half to lead the Student Princes to a season opening win.Â
Inside the Box Score
- Freshman Dominique Tedrow had nine saves in her debut in net.
- The Lady Baorns lost the turnover battle 38-27.
- Maureen Cain had a team high five ground balls.
- Emmy Flootman-Mullen had a game high four goals and five points to help the Student Princes secure their first win.
