How It HappenedÂ
Franciscan Men's Soccer celebrated their seniors today in their last home game of the regular season. The Barons would lose to Chatham 2-0. In the first half, the game was back and forth. No team was able to really control the ball better than the other. As a result, the ball spent much of the time in midfield, with very little opportunities to score on either side. In the second half, Chatham's forwards found ways to break free and streak up the field. Jax Mautone had a spectacular effort warding off tough shot after tough shot, but eventually one fell, and Chatham would go up 1-0 with 25 minutes remaining in the second half.Â
Inside the Numbers Â
-Jax Mautone recorded 6 saves, bringing his season total to 80
-The Barons are 2nd in the PAC in goals against average at 1.36
-Franciscan out shot Chatham 17-11.
-Ryan Miller picked up his 3rd yellow card of the season.
