Race: PAC Men's Cross Country Championships
Location:Â Bethany, W.Va.
Date:Â March 20, 2021
Short Story:Â Franciscan wins their first PAC Championship, in any sport, as the Men's Cross Country team holds off St. Vincent by two points to capture the title.
Race Highlights
The Men's Cross Country Team has done it! They secured the first ever PAC Championship in Franciscan history in their first year competing in the conference. It was a total team effort, as they would be the lone team to have five runners finish in the Top 10. The Barons were led by their senior
Liam Galligan who won his fourth straight conference championship individual title today, by running a time of 15:46.  He would beat the field by over twenty seconds in this five kilometer race.
Miguel Daez was not too far behind, as he placed 4th with a time of 16:15. This was the first of many close finishes that the Barons gutted out to win this title. Daez beat a St. Vincent runner by a couple milliseconds. Transfer
George Kaftan had another strong finish as he would finish in 6th, just one second ahead of teammate
Mark Borek in 7th.
Austen Duggan would finish strong late as he narrowly beat out a couple runners to secure his top ten position, and the Barons first ever PAC Championship.Â
