How It Happened
The Franciscan Men's Soccer team fell for the first time this season to Presidents' Athletics Conference (PAC) opponent Geneva by a score of 3-0.
The Barons started strong earning the first corner kick of the game, putting pressure on the Golden Tornadoes defense. In the eighth minute off a free kick, Nick Cross fired a shot that just sailed over the cross bar. Off a corner kick in the 18th minute, Sebastian Koehler blasted another shot that missed high. Two minutes later Koehler would again fire a shot, missing high again. The Golden Tornadoes would settle in slowing the Barons offense and keeping the game scoreless heading into the half.
Geneva would capture momentum early in the second half, when Ian Gelsinger scoring in the 52nd minute. Golden Tornadoes Mason Mee and Carnel Kerr would tack on a goal in the 62nd and 67th minute putting the game out of reach for the Barons, securing the 3-0 victory.
