How It Happened
The Franciscan Men's Soccer team could not overcome a second half goal, falling to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Saint Vincent by a score of 2-1.
In the 35th minute, Sebastian Koehler would force a turnover that fell perfectly at the feet of Nick Miller. Miller would knife a ball through the Bearcats defense finding an open Koehler in the box. Koehler finished with his left foot, driving the ball into the back of the net for the game first goal. Two minutes later, Saint Vincent would capitalize on a foul in the box, with Roberto Fulweiler scoring on a penalty kick. The game would remain deadlocked at one going into the half.
Saint Vincent would strike first in the second half when Joel Quiroz Mansilla lifted a shot into the back of the net, giving the Bearcats a 2-1 lead. The Barons would press the attack looking for an equalizer, creating oppertunities for Koehler and Nick Miller in the box, but they could not find an answer. The Bearcats would hold on for the 2-1 victory.
