How It Happened
The Franciscan Men's Soccer Team fell 1-0 in a highly contested Presidents' Athletics Conference (PAC) battle with Grove City.
The first half was very even, with both teams trying to create a scoring chance. The Barons had their best scoring chance in the 37th minute when Sebastian Koehler launched a shot heading for the lower left corner of the goal, but Grove City's keeper was able to make a diving save. Five minutes later, Nick Miller got a clean look at goal, but his shot was also saved sending the game into the half scoreless.
The Barons would create a couple of scoring chances early in the second half with Miller and JP Bobak each putting shots on goal. Grove City scored to take the lead in the 64th minute. The Wolverines then packed the defensive end of the field, stifling the Barons attack, in route to the 1-0 victory.
