How It Happened
The Franciscan Lady Barons defeated Saint Vincent in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play 18-13. The game was cut short due to lightning.

It did not take long for the Franciscan offense to find the back of the net, with Grace Deegan passing to a wide open Maureen Cain for the first goal of the game. Three minutes later, Riley O'Brien stormed through the Bearcats defense, scoring her first goal of the game. In the 12th minute, Joanna Hilkert passed from behind the goal to a cutting Deegan for a goal, putting the Barons ahead 3-0. Saint Vincent would respond, scoring three straight goals to tie the game at three midway through the first half. Franciscan would halt the run when Cain drew multiple defenders to her and flipped a pass over to Joanna Hilkert who scored her first goal of the game. After two straight Saint Vincent goals, Deegan would warp around the goal, beating the goalie to tie the game at five. After a save by starting goalkeeper Sam Callahan, the Barons broke out on a counter attack with Cain making a great pass in transition to Joanna Hilkert and she scored giving Franciscan a 6-5 lead headed into halftime.

Franciscan started the second half strong, with Cain finding Deegan in transition for the first goal of the half. After winning the ensuing draw, Cain would storm through the Bearcats defense, scoring to give Franciscan an 8-5 lead. O'Brien would extend the lead, netting two goals in a 30 second span to give Franciscan a five goal lead. Saint Vincent would regroup, scoring three straight goals to close back with in two. The Barons would stop the run when Maria Hilkert found a cutting Deegan for her fourth goal of the day. On the next possession, Deegan would draw in the defense, finding an open Annie King for a goal, giving Franciscan a 12-8 lead. Maria Hilkert then found Mary Bohli for Bohli first goal of the game, extending the lead back to five. After a Bearcats goal, Joanna Hilkert completed scoring her second goal, scoring off a pass from Cain. Maddy Smith and Maria Hilkert each scored goals on free position shots, building the lead to seven. Joanna Hilkert and King each added another goal before nearby lightning strikes with just over nine minutes remaining forced the players from the field. The game was not restarted, with Franciscan picking up the 18-13 win.
