How It Happened
Franciscan Men's Soccer returned to competition after a 10 day break at Marietta on Wednesday night. The Pioneers would get the better of their non-conference opponent, the Barons, as they downed Franciscan 5-1.

Shortly after the Pioneers got on the board, as Reggie Grayek found the back of the net to give Marietta the early edge. The Barons would go on to out shot the Pioneers for the half, but not be able to get one by the goalkeeper. In the 31st minute, Federici would convert the second goal of the night for the Pioneers on a pass from Chappel. The Barons would head into the half trailing 2-0.

The Pioneers would keep up the attack in the second half as they took six shots in the first 20 minutes of the half. Jax Mautone had a couple stellar saves to keep this one a two goal margin. In the 66th minute, the Barons broke through as Sebastian Koehler scored on an assist from JP Bobak. The Pioneers would respond eight minutes later with their third goal of the game.
