How It HappenedÂ
Franciscan Men's Soccer wrap-up the Penn State Behrend Tournament in the consolation game against Morrisville State after losing to Baldwin Wallace 0-1 the night before. This is the second time in history these teams have faced, and the first time since 2008 which Morrisville State took 3-0. Today Franciscan had the upper hand and beat Morrisville State 1-0.
The Barons had good ball control for the first half, and were on the attack early. Sebastian Koehler and Nick Miller had good pressure on the goalie each getting a good shot, but both missed the goal. Anthony Felix and Mikey Irvin each put a shot on goal forcing the Mustangs' Lucero to make a play and keep his team in the game. The Barons dodged a bullet mid-half, as the defensive positioning broke down and the Mustangs' Diaz had a wide open look 15Â yds out, but missed and the ball bounced off the left post. There were some exciting moments, but no scores to show for them and they entered halftime 0-0.
The Barons wouldn't be denied another half. For the first 30 minutes of the second half it felt like the ball stayed within the box on the Mustangs' end. The relentless pressure finally got to the Mustangs, and after a penalty in the box Nick Miller found the back of the net on a penalty kick the 22nd goal of his career.
Inside the Numbers Â
-Nick Miller recorded his first goal of the season

Who's Next?Â
The Barons will have a couple days off to recover from the back to back days with games, but then will have another back to back this coming weekend. They will face Penn State Altoona on Friday night at 7pm, and then play La Roche on Saturday afternoon. The Lions and Barons used to square off every year, as they were both members of the AMCC, until Franciscan joined the PAC back in 2020. The Lions hold the edge in the series history, by winning nine of the previous 12 matchups, but Franciscan did come out on top in their last meeting in 2019. Current Senior Nick Miller had a big day with a goal and an assist to lead the Barons to a 2-0 shutout win on October 1, 2019.
