How It Happened
The Franciscan Barons tie 2-2 with the Allegheny Gators in their 2nd to last conference match of the season. In what was truly a battle from start to finish, the Barons challenged the Gators in a very back-and-forth game. When one team had the momentum, the other took it right back as both teams took the same number of shots on goal. The Barons overcame much adversity throughout this game. However, through their Christian attitude and unwavering team-spirit, they persevered and would not back down from the rough-skinned Gators.
Although the Barons were trailing at halftime, they came out off the sidelines ready to finish what they started. Fifteen minutes in the second half, sophomore midfielder, Ryan Miller connected with the back of the net to tie the game for the Barons in the 60th minute. While the Gators thought this was the last, they'd seen of the Miller brothers, this would not be the case as graduate student midfielder, Nick Miller, sunk a beautiful free kick between the posts in the 78th minute to keep things even for the Barons.
Coming from behind to edge out the tie was a result of the battle 'til the end mentality. These men did not give up and will look to play with that same energy next week against the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets in their final regular season match.

Inside the Numbers
-Ryan Miller's goal was his 2nd of the season
-Nick Miller's goal is his 7th of the season
-Jax Mautone recorded 8 saves
-The Barons were outshot 27-23

Who's Next?
Franciscan will end their regular season on Monday at Waynesburg. This game was moved from September 21st due to severe weather. The Barons are 9-5 all-time against the Yellow Jackets, including wins in their last seven matchups. Last season was a big 5-2 victory at home, as Chris St. George, Jonathan Schriner, and Sebastian Koehler each scored a goal, and JP Bobak scored a pair of late goals. Waynesburg is on the outside looking in to the PAC playoffs, as they just have one conference win, but they will be hungry to play to affect Franciscan's playoff seeding aspirations.
