How It Happened
Lily Wahl took the start for pitching for the second time this season. Franciscan dug a quick hole in the 1st inning, going down 3-0 off 5 hits. In the bottom of the 1st, Jenny Massey hit a single to left field, then advanced to second off a walk, but that was the only runners that made it on base. The top of the 2nd went smoother for Franciscan. The first two batters went out from a fly ball to LF and a pop up to the SS. One batter hit a single to 3B, then stole second base. The inning ended with her left on base after Lily Wahl struck out Wilson's Kosheba. In the bottom of the 2nd, all Franciscan batters struck out. In the top of the 3rd Wilson continued scoring. They scored 4 runs off 5 hits. Franciscan's batters in the bottom of the inning struck out and had two fly outs. In the top of the 4th, Chloe Cross relieved Lilly Wahl as pitcher. Wilson College scored 4 more runs bringing their lead to 11-0. In the top of the 5th Ariana Arnone took the circle for the first time in her career. Arnone allowed 0 runs and only 1 hit. Franciscan batters were unable to score a run in the bottom of the 5th, and Wilson College picked up the win off of the run rule. The game ended in the 5th 11-0.

At the Plate
-Elizabeth Gibson went 1 for 2, bringing her season batting average to .625
-Jenny Massey went 1 for 2 with the lead off single in the 1st inning
-Chloe Cross went 1 for 1 on her lone plate appearance after coming in to pitch in the 4th
-Brooklynn Miller advanced to 1st base off being hit by the pitcher.

How It Happened
Franciscan began the game with 3 quick ground outs. Stevenson found some early success, getting 4 hits into the outfield that led to 3 runs before the close of the 1st inning. In the top of the 2nd, Chloe Cross gave Franciscan their lead off single. Franciscan allowed another 3 hits in the 2nd, but had improved infield play, holding Stevenson to 1 run leaving 2 runners on base. The 3rd inning was a defensive stand from both sides, only Stevenson registering a hit. In the 4th Franciscan found their offense. Kimberly McDaniels led off at the plate for the inning, hitting a single to left center field. Chloe Cross followed with another single, and McDaniels advanced to second. Janie Bryner came in to pinch hit for Alexis McKnight and hit a sacrifice bunt to advance Cross to second and McDaniels to third. Elizabeth Gibson continues to have success at the plate. Gibson hit a single to left field advancing Cross to third and McDaniels scored. Brooklynn Miller and Lily Wahl were both hit by the pitcher. At this point Gibson was in scoring position on third, Miller on second, and Wahl on first with 2 outs. Franciscan had a great chance to bite a chunk out of the lead and potentially tie the game. Jenny Massey connected with the ball, but got under it a little too much, and hit a fly ball to left field. The Stevenson outfielder was able to make the play, closing the inning and leaving 3 Franciscan runners on base. Franciscan followed one of their best offensive innings with an even better effort in the 5th. Kimberly McDaniels, Chloe Cross, and Janie Bryner hit back-to-back-to-back singles, scoring Bryner and McDaniels. Cross was thrown out at third. Elizabeth Gibson hit another single scoring Bryner. Franciscan made it around the entire batting order in one inning. Wahl came back to bat for the second time this inning. She fouled out to the first basemen retiring the Franciscan batters. Kimberly McDaniels closed the 5th inning striking out two batters, and threw a third out at 1st base. At the close of the 5th Franciscan tied the game 5-5. Stevenson held Franciscan to one hit in the 6th, and Franciscan allowed what would be the winning run before the close of the sixth. Stevenson's defense held in the top of the 7th and closing the game.

At the Plate
-Kimberly McDaniels batted .500 for the day, adding 2 runs.
-Chloe Cross was 3 for 4 from the plate bringing her season average to .500
-Elizabeth Gibson continues to have success batting, going 3 of 4, bringing her season average up to .667
-Janie Bryner was efficient with her 2 at bats. Bryner went 1 for 2 with 2 RBI's, and adding a run.

In the Circle
- Starter Kimberly McDaniels pitched for 6 innings. McDaniels allowed 13 hits, 6 runs, and had 3 strikeouts.

Up Next
Franciscan will have Wednesday off before they play a doubleheader on Thursday in the Palmettto State. They will play Suffolk at 1:30 pm UMass-Boston at 3:30 pm. Of the two schools from Massachusetts, the Lady Barons have only played UMass-Boston in previous years, but that was back in 2010.
