How It Happened
Franciscan made the short trip to their PAC rival in Bethany. The Bison would jump out to an early lead an hold on late to win the seven inning game one by a score of 6-2.
The Bison struck first in the home half of the first inning, as they would manufacture a run without a hit. The leadoff batter would be hit by pitch, and then steal second before later scoring on a sac fly from Beatty. The Bison would add on in the third, as another sacrifice fly would give them a 2-0 lead. Franciscan finally responded in the top of the fourth inning.
Michael Maynard and
Brendan Burke each hit singles to put two runners aboard. Normandin would move both of them ver on a ground out, and the
Dylan Robb would drive a ball deep enough to center that scored Maynard on the third sac fly of the day. Whitmore would get in trouble in the fifth, as the Bison loaded the bases with no outs. He then walked the next batter to give Bethany a 3-1 lead. Head Coach
Rick Carver would then go to the bullpen for freshman
Jonathan Perez. The lefty would try to minimize th damage, but a sac fly and groundout would score a pair of Bison before getting the final out on a strikeout. Bethany would lead 5-1 though five innings.
The Barons would get another run in the sixth, as Maynard scored on a multiple base error by the Bison center fielder. That would be all Franciscan could get, as Bethany shut the door with another insurance run and seven strong innings by their starter.

How It Happened
Franciscan would take another shot in game two, as
Patrick Wallace took the ball for the Barons. This Bison got to him early, as they scored three runs in the first inning including a two run home run before he settled in to a better rhythm. In the third the Barons would put a crooked number up with a lot of two-out offense.
Ryan Scavnicky would drive in the first run on a fielder's choice that would set the score at 3-1 with two outs. The next two batters would work their way on base to load the bases full for
Andrew Normandin. He would work a walk to score the second run. Then
Wade Stoehr came up to bat with the bases juiced, and he delivered with his second home run of the year to clear the bases and give Franciscan at 6-3 lead.
The Bison would chip into the lead by getting a pair of runs in the home half of the third, and then they would chase Wallace out in the sixth with two more runs to take a 7-6 edge.
Jonathan Perez would come in for the second time today, but he would allow three runs in the seventh with only two earned. The Barons fielding was not up to par with their normal self, as they had five errors in game two.
Wade Stoehr and
Aidan Hickey hit back to back singles to lead off the eighth inning in Franciscan's final threat.
Kyle Ferrance would drive in Stoehr on a single, and then
Patrick Wallace would score Hickey on a sacrifice fly. The Bison bullpen would do enough to shutdown Franciscan and secure the doubleheader sweep.

Up Next
Franciscan will return home to take on Penn State Behrend on Thursday afternoon at 4:00 pm.
