How It Happened
Franciscan baseball hosted Saint Vincent on Wednesday afternoon, which without a doubt was the best weather for a game this month. The Barons would get on the board first in the first inning of this seven inning game. Patrick Wallace led off with a double, and then David Ferroni walked to get the first two runners on base. Michael Maynard would drive in Wallace on a double to right field. Brendan Burke then hit an opposite field single that scored Ferroni from third. Aidan Hickey would then draw a walk to load the bases with no outs. Daniel Halsey hit a ball up the middle which the Bearcats would get the out at second, but then the throw the ball away. That would allow a pair of runners to score to give Franciscan a 4-0 lead.

The Barons would hold the lead until the third inning. The Bearcats led off the inning with a solo home run, and then a defensive miscue would give the Bearcats some more life. They would go on to have five hits in the inning and score six runs, four of which were earned by starter Jacob Watson. In the next inning the Bearcats would plate three more runs, including a two run home run. Samuel Tyler would come in to pitch the final three innings for Franciscan, and he was nearly perfect, but the offense would not be able to get on the board. Bearcats won game one.

At the Plate
- Michael Maynard was the lone Baron with two hits.
- Patrick Wallace hit a double to center field in the first inning.
- The Bearcats had seven extra-base hits.

How It Happened
The Bearcats would strike first in this one after neither team scored through the first three innings. In the fourth, Saint Vincent scored two runs. They then added four more in the fifth off a grand slam by Sabol. The Barons would continue to fight, as they would score in the home half of the fifth. David Ferroni would single in Daniel Halsey to give Franciscan their first run of the game. With the bases loaded, Brendan Burke delivered a bases clearing triple to center to set the score at 6-4. The Barons would add to their runs total in the sixth inning, as Dylan Robb scored on an error by the Bearcats, and then Ryan Scavnicky singled in Daniel Halsey to tie it up at 6-6.

The Bearcats would respond in the seventh, as they put up a crooked number with four runs to retake the lead at 10-6. Daniel Halsey would continue his strong day in the bottom of the inning, as he drove in a pair of runs to tighten it up at 10-8. Unfortunately the Barons would not be able to add on anymore, as that score would hold for a Bearcats win.
