How It Happened
The Barons traveled to Muskingum to play the Fighting Muskies for the second time this season. In the first meeting the Barons were victorious in an extra-inning walk-off win at Vaccaro Field. Today the Fighting Muskies would come out on top in New Concord, Ohio by a score of 7-1.

Muskingum would score first, as they scored two runs in the third inning to take the lead. The Barons responded in the top of the fourth with one run of their own. Andrew Normandin singled in Michael Maynard who hit a double earlier in the inning. Unfortunately that would be all the offense that Franciscan would be able produce for the day. The Fighting Muskies tacked on five more runs on the Baron bullpen to win by a score of 7-1.

At the Plate
- Michael Maynard hit two doubles while scoring the lone run.
- Aidan Hickey hit a double. 
- The Barons had one more extra-base hit than the Muskies.

On the Mound  
- Starter Ryan Neely last two innings, as it was a bullpen day, he allowed one hit and zero runs.
- Samuel Tyler got the loss while allowing two runs, only one of which was earned.
- Dominic Brandi pitched the fourth inning while allowing two runs.
- Jonathan Perez pitched the one inning while allowing an earned run.
- Daniel Halsey pitchd a clean sixth inning with just one hit allowed.
- Patrick Wallace gave one inning of work while striking out one.
- Andrew Normandin took the ball in the eighth and allowed one run while striking out one.

Up Next
Franciscan hopes to get back into conference play on Thursday at home against Waynesburg. The doubleheader is scheduled to start with a seven inning doubleheader at 1pm then a nine inning game to follow. The Barons were able to defeat the the Yellow Jackets at their place on March 25th by a score of 12-2. Brendan Burke, Andrew Normandin, and Aidan Hickey all had three RBIs in the win. Starter Jacob Watson pitched a nine inning complete game while striking out three and allowing two earned runs. 

Baron Summer Camps
Franciscan University Athletics is partnering with Steubenville Conferences to offer summer sports camps in conjunction with the Steubenville Main Campus 1 (June 9-12th, 2022) and 3 (June 23-26th, 2022). Youth Conferences. Participants will be able to strengthen both their athletic skills and their relationship with Christ in this uniquely Franciscan hybrid experience.
