How It Happened
Franciscan lost to a close call at home plate in extra innings.
Kimberly McDaniels was at the top of the order for game 1 of the doubleheader. McDaniels had the lead off single to left field with her first visit to the plate.
Rachel Cooper singled on a bunt, but both Cooper and McDaniels were left on base at the close of the inning.
Chloe Cross got on base in the 4th inning after being hit by a pitch, but was left on base. The top of the 5th showed hope of a run for the Barons.
Felicia MacGillivray doubled to right center field, then McDaniels reached first base on an error.
Jenny Massey was next on the order and she reached on an error as well. That error advanced MacGillivray to third and McDaniels to second loading the bases. With two outs and bases loaded
Rachel Cooper had a chance to bat in what would've been a game winning run. Cooper hit a shot towards center and Chatham was able to tag Massey out at second and close the inning. After 7 innings the game was tied 0-0. In the 9th inning the Barons had another shot at winning the game.
Alexis McKnight led the inning off and hit a single to center. Kimbery McDaniels walked advancing
Janie Bryner, who was pinch running for McKnight, to second.
Jenny Massey reached base on an error, advancing McDaniels to second, and Bryner to third once again loading the bases. For the second time in the game
Rachel Cooper approached the plate with 2 outs, bases loaded, and a chance to win the game. She hit another shot to center field and Chatham tagged Massey out at second. the game ended in the bottom of the 9th. Chatham' Hans pinch ran for Collins who was hit by a pitch. Hans stole second. Haak grounded out on a SAC bunt advancing Hans to third. Boyle hit a grounder to second base and Hans beat the throw to home in a close call tag at home plate.

How It Happened
After a nail biter and intense game 1 of the double header, the Barons got behind early and lost game 2 to the Cougars.
Rachel Cooper and
Alexis McKnight both got on base, but the Barons didn't register a hit until the top of the 3rd. Felicia Macgillivray closed out the lineup with a lead off single to right center.
Kimberly McDaniels was walked and advanced MacGillivray to second.
Jenny Massey hit a single off a bunt and loaded the bases. For the the third time today,
Rachel Cooper stepped up to the plate with bases loaded. The third time is the charm as Cooper singled down the left field line scoring MacGillivray and McDaniels. Cooper tied the game up at 2-2.
Jenny Massey tried stealing home to take the lead, but was caught by fractions of a second. In the bottom of the 3rd inning Chatham scored 3 runs, the first running turning out to be the winning run.
Kimberly McDaniels hit another single in the 5th, but that was the only other chance for the Barons to score. Chatham put together a couple more runs and won 8-2 in 7 innings.

Franciscan is slated to play Geneva on Monday afternoon in Steubenville at 3:30 pm. These games were originally schedule for April 1st, but due to inclement weather they have been rescheduled multiple times. The Golden Tornadoes won the PAC last season, but they are not atop the league standings this season, as they are with Franciscan fighting for a playoff spot still.
