How It Happened
Franciscan traveled to Washington, Pa. fresh off a giant win against the #7 Regionally ranked Westminster Titans. Each team's defense held firm for the first two innings of play. Franciscan led off scoring in the top of the 3rd.
Brooklynn Miller was hit by a pitch, then
Chloe Cross was walked.
Rachel Cooper hit a SAC bunt to advance Miller and Cross into scoring positions.
Kimberly McDaniels hit a single to left field to score Miller and take the lead 1-0.
In the top of the 4th, Franciscan extended their lead.
Ariana Arnone got on base off an error by the first baseman.
Alexis McKnight hit a SAC bunt to advance Arnone to second. Arnone got aggressive and turned second base to head for third. After throwing McKnight out at first the second baseman committed a throwing error trying to get Arnone out at third. After realizing the error, Arnone rounded third and made it home scoring the Barons second run. The Barons were now leading 2-0.
The Presidents answered with a run in the bottom of the 4th, but had a spree of hits in the bottom of the 6th. They scored 3 runs to take the lead 2-4. The Barons had two hits in the top of the 7th, but were unable to turn any runs, and lost 2-4.

How It Happened
Game 2 of the doubleheader was all Presidents from the beginning. An early Baron error allowed the Presidents to turn 3 hits into 3 runs in the top of the 1st. The Barons found their first run in the top of the 5th.
Brooklynn Miller singled down the left side.
Chloe Cross was walked.
Rachel Cooper singled to right center scoring Miller from second base. The Barons grabbed 2 more hits in the top of the 6th, and had two runners in scoring position, but had 2 outs and the last batter hit a grounder to third base. The President's third baseman was able to gather the ball and make the play to retire the top of the inning. After a homer in the bottom of the inning, the President's took an 8 run lead, and the game ended after 6.

Ariana Arnone hit her first career grand slam. Waynesburg is having a strong season, as they are expected to make the playoffs, Franciscan in on the outside looking in, but can play the role of spoiler Saturday.
