How It Happened
Franciscan made the short trip to Beaver Falls, to finish the three game series at Geneva. The Barons would keep their winning streak going, as they won the seven inning game one.Â
Geneva would score first in the first on an RBI single by Bickerton. The Barons would respond in a big way in the second inning. After a pair of quick outs, Daniel Hlasey and
Aidan Hickey would hit singles. Then with two outs
Dylan Robb would deliver a deep home tun over the left-center fence to give Franciscan a 3-1 edge. The Barons would add on in the third.
Ryan Scavnicky would get hit by a pitch, and then
Michael Maynard would hit a double to set runners at second and third.
Brendan Burke would deliver a double that scored both runners. He would later score in the inning on a wild pitch to se the score at 6-1.Â
The Golden Tornadoes would score three runs between the fourth and fifth innings to chase start
Patrick Wallace out of the game.
Andrew Normandin would come in to relieve him. He would deliver two strong innings of work to earn his first save of the year.
Dylan Robb would hit another home run in the sixth, to add an insurance run, as Franciscan would win 7-4.

Brendan Burke set a new program record for RBIs in a season with now 43 and counting through game one.Â

How It Happened
The Barons would get out to an early lead in game two, as
Dylan Robb would lead the way once again. His ground out in the second inning would score
Brendan Burke to take a 1-0 lead. In the third
Ryan Scavnicky would hit a sacrifice fly that scored
James Becker.
Michael Maynard would be the next batter, and he would deliver a solo home run to take a 3-0 lead. Geneva would tack one on in the fourth inning, but Franciscan would respond in the top of the fifth.
Patrick Wallace drove in
James Becker on a groundout to set the score at 4-1.Â
The Franciscan bullpen did a stellar job, as four pitchers combined for eight innings of one run ball.
Jacob Watson came in to shut the door in the ninth, but he ran into some issues. After loading the bases with no outs, Watson would get an out. Then a single would score a pair, and a fielder's choice score the tying run. Now with two outs, Fee would single in Orbin, who just stole second to walk-off the Barons.Â

Up Next
Franciscan will remain busy, as they are scheduled to head to Grove City on Monday afternoon for a conference doubleheader. This game has been moved around once or twice, but it will be good to finally get these big games in hopefully on Monday. Grove City was picked to finish second in the conference, but they are currently the fourth and final spot into the PAC playoffs. A pair of wins by Franciscan would climb them up into playoff consideration.Â
Baron Summer Camps
Franciscan University Athletics is partnering with Steubenville Conferences to offer summer sports camps in conjunction with the Steubenville Main Campus 1 (June 9-12th, 2022) and 3 (June 23-26th, 2022). Youth Conferences. Participants will be able to strengthen both their athletic skills and their relationship with Christ in this uniquely Franciscan hybrid experience.
