Men's Cross Country Earns Impressive Win in Season Debut

Meet Information
Race: Fisher Invite
Location: New Wilmington, Pa. - Westminster College (Pa.)
Short Story: Four Franciscan runners finish in the top 10 as the Barons pick up their first win of the season.

Race Highlights
The Franciscan Men's Cross Country team started off the 2022 season by picking up a team win in the 5K race at Westminster on Friday night. The Barons, who were picked third in the PAC Coaches' Preseason Poll, came out on top over Division I Robert Morris, as well as Saint Vincent who was selected as the favorite to win the PAC Championship.

Franciscan was led by Conal Delaney, who placed second in this field of 77 runners. In a very crowded pack of runners that all finished in the top 10, Miguel Daez would pull ahead to finish 5th. Danny Donovan placed 6th with teammate David Di Nardo one second behind in 8th. George Kaftan would round out the top five finishers for Franciscan, as he placed 20th.

That would give Franciscan 41 team points to edge out Division I Robert Morris by eight points to claim the team title. Saint Vincent would place third with 65 points.
