Franciscan 2, Chatham 0
Starting XI
Benjamin James, Zachary Muldoon, Joseph St. George, Augustine Rubino, Aidan Mahoney, Joshua Atkinson, Lucas Cross, Ryan Miller, Aidan Henninger, Anthony Venditti, & Goalkeeper Jax Mautone
How It Happened
The Barons went on the road last night to get a shutout win over the Chatham Cougars. Their win combined with a Waynesburg loss put them one point ahead of Waynesburg in the standings and currently sitting in second place. The Barons have three games remaining to hold onto that seeding and get the quarterfinal bye and home semifinal game.
Joseph St. George and Lucas Cross continue to be oppressive on any defenders. The combo tallied 4 shots, 3 SOG, and a goal each. Their efforts on the offensive end combined with the stout defense continue to be a winning recipe for the Barons.
Inside the Numbers
-Lucas Cross now leads the conference in goals scored (12)
-Joe St. George and Ryan Miller are still top of the PAC in assists (6)
-Mautone recorded 3 saves
Who's Next?
Franciscan will conclude a three game road trip at Saint Vincent on Saturday. The Barons are 3-5 all-time against the Bearcats, including a pair of wins in their last two matchups. Last season in Steubenville, the Barons won by a score of 2-0. Jonathan Schriner and Nick Miller would find the back of the net, while Jax Mautone would not let one by him in goal for Franciscan.
