How It Happened
Not all that long ago the Barons traveled to Latrobe, Pa and suffered a devastating 0-4 loss. In the last game, the Bearcats goalkeeper had to stop a flurry of shots from the Barons to earn the shutout and get the Bearcats the win. The difference between that game and last night was our defense. Dill recorded 6 saves to keep the Bearcats scoreless plus added a pivotal save in PK's to allow Lilian Torbeck to finish the Bearcats off with her PK goal. Dill has 6 goalkeeper wins on the season and all of them are shutouts. Last night was her 6th shutout of the year setting the single season record for the Barons.
The Barons and Bearcats were scoreless through regulation. In the first overtime, the Barons ripped a couple shots and prevented any attempts from St. Vincent. In the second overtime, St. Vincent made a last second surge, but Rebekka Dill made her final save with 45 seconds left in the second overtime. With two overtime's down, the teams headed into a Penalty Kick Shootout to decide the match (see video below). For both St. Vincent and Franciscan the first four shooters scored goals. The Barons shooters (in order) were Juliana Rubino, Tania Davidson, Maria De La Torre, and Elise Winogradoff. With the shootout score tied 4-4, St. Vincent's Ambrose stepped up, fired, but saved by Dill! Lilian Torbeck stepped up to the ball with her chance to win it. Torbeck beat the goaltender to the top right corner and sent the Barons to the semifinals.

Inside the Numbers
-Dill recorded 6 saves in her 6th shutout of the year
-Tania Davidson had a game-high 9 shots and 5 SOG
-The 13 Baron SOG outpaced all Bearcat shot attempts (12)
