Highlights for the Women
- Clara Symington came in fourth in the prelims for the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.13 seconds. That time is the second fastest in school history. She would go on to place third in the finals.
- Jianna Hanson and Victoria Unnerstall placed 22nd and 24th in the 400m.
- Anne O'Boyle reached the podium in the 800m with an eighth place finish as she ran a time of 2:38.79.
- Five runners took on the 1500m with two reaching the podium. Jessica Campbell placed fourth with a time of 5:10.76, and Rachel Hurley placed seventh with a time of 5:23.93.
- Angelina Toole, Clara Gross, and Emma O'Keefe all placed in the top 30.
- Claire Walters took home gold in the 5000m with a time of 18:10.38. She beat the field by over a minute and fifteen seconds while battling the winds. That time is the second fastest in program history.
- Brigid Mack kept up the success with a trip to the top od the podium in the discus. Her best throw would go 39.37m. That would be her third longest throw of her career at Franciscan.
- That would give the Women's Team 34 points to place 7th out of 15 teams.
Highlights for the Men
- John Maedke posted a time of 11.64 in the 100m to place 28th. Charles Jardine placed 59th.
- Alexander Blose just placed seventh in the 110m hurdle prelims. He just missed making the finals, but his time set a new school record.
- Joseph Rohde placed sixth in the 200m with a time of 22.74 to earn three points for the Barons. David Cappello placed 12th with a time of 23.56.
- Cappello bested Rohde in the 400m, as he placed second with a time of 49.55. Rohde was narrowly behind him in third with a time of 49.93 seconds.
- Nathaniel Tokarsky had his best finish of the season, as he placed second in the 800m with a time of 2:06.16. David Di Nardo would place 7th with a time of 2:07.77.
- Miguel Daez would reach the top of the podium in the 1500m. He ran a time of 4:01.13. David Di Nardo would place fifth with a time of 4:15.65. Francis Langley placed 46th.Â
- Two more Barons earned points in the 5000m. Conal Delaney placed 5th and Andrew Madigan placed seventh.
- In field events, Isaac Turner placed 16th in the javelin, and Alexander Blose placed 15th in the long jump.Â
- Three Barons competed in the shot put. Nicholas Brass posted the fifth best throw in school history with a best mark of 13.02m. Charles Jardine placed 34th, and Tyson Smith placed 47th.
- That would all result in the Men's Team placing 7th out of 14 Teams with 47 points.
Up Next
The Barons will make the trip to Slippery Rock next weekend to participate in the Dave Labor Invitational. Events are scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1st.
