How It Happened
The Franciscan Men's Lacrosse hosted Wilmington on Saturday afternoon for their first game of the season at Trinity Health System Field. They did not dissapoint the home faithful, as they would beat the Quakers by a score of 12-6.
The opening quarter would be dominated by the Barons, as Gavin Cook scored a pair of goals, and Michael Francis scored one. The Barons would lead 3-1 after the first fifteen minutes. The second quarter was pretty much the opposite, as the Quakers would get their offense going. They would score four unanswered goals to take a two goal lead at 5-3. Nicholas Sando would end the half with a power play goal to send the Barons to the half trailing by one.
The Quakers would score first in the second half to take the two goal lead once again. From then it was all Franciscan. They would have their best offensive quarter witf five unanswered goals, three of which came from Alexander Dhabliwala. The Barons would not be done, as they would shutout the Quakers in the final quarter while tallying three more goals. The Barons are now 2-0 for the first time since the 2017 season.

- Sam Smith caused five turnovers, and Joesph Redmond led the Barons with seven ground balls.

Up Next
Franciscan will look to continue a strong start to the season, as they travel to La Roche on Wednesday. The Barons are 4-4 all-time against the Redhawks with the Barons winning the matchup last season by a score of 25-1. Gavin Cook had a career day last year by scoring nine goals and adding two assists to have an 11 point day.
