Short Story:Â The Indoor Track & Field season came to an end, as the Barons made one final push to qualify for Nationals at Ohio Northern.

Highlights for the Barons

Alexander Blose became the first Baron to compete in the Heptathlon, as he totaled 3050 points to place third out of five athletes.. He ran the 60 meter dash in a time of 7.51 seconds. Then he jumped 5.20 meters in the long jump. In shot put his best throw was 8.00m, but high jump he did not clear the bar. The next two event were more his strength, as he placed third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.31 seconds. He then cleared 3.75m in the pole vault to place second. The seventh and final event was the 1000m run. He placed third with a time of 3:40.25.

David Cappello ran to a second place finish in the 800m with a time of 1:54.14. That time was unable to improve his best time of the season of 1:53.94 which was nationally ranked, but not inside the Top 20 to make it to the NCAA National Championship.

Miguel Daez placed fourth in the 3000m with a time of 8:51.89.Â

Ryan Ozymy placed second just one hundredth of a second behind the winner with a time of 50.65 in the 400m.Â

Franciscan will begin the Outdoor Track & Field season on spring break in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They will compete in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invite on March 16th-18th to kick off the outdoor season that will conclude in May.Â
