Highlights for the Women
- Jessica Campbell and Claire Walters made podium appearances in the 800m, while both breaking the school record time. Jessica Campbell placed fifth with a time of 2:19.94. Walters was just five hundredths of a second behind her in sixth, as the Barons would get seven team points from this event.Â
- Alana Bradford placed 18th in the 100m with a time of 13.71 seconds.
- Rachel Hurley posted a time of 5:14.38 to place 12th in the 1500m, Emma O'Keefe placed 24th in this event as well.
- In the 400m Rebecca Bolster placed 16th with a time of 1:04.20, and Jianna Hanson was in 19th just a little over a second behind her.Â
- Clara Symington had the best finish of the day for the women's team, as she placed third in the 400m hurdles. She earned six team points with a time of 1:06.29.
- Rebecca Bolster placed 25th in the 200m with a time of 28.15 seconds, while Alana Bradford placed 39th.Â
- In high jump, Laura Richthammer placed 15th with a best clearing of 1.35m. In long jump, Alana Bradford placed 14th with a best jump of 4.38m.Â
- Clara Gross ran just under 21 minutes in the 5000m run to place 20th.Â
- In the final event of the day, Jianna Hanson, Jessica Campbell, Claire Walters, and Clara Symington, teamed up to run the 4x400 meter relay. They would set a new program record with a time of 4:14.28 to place third. That time was seven seconds better than the record set last season.Â
Highlights for the Men
- Ryan Ozymy picked up eight points for the Barons, as he placed second in the 400m, while breaking his own school record time. He ran a time of 49.08 seconds.Â
- David Cappello took in the 1500m once again this week, as he just made the podium in eighth place. He posted a time of 4:08.17. Conal Delaney placed 15th with a time of 4:17.15.Â
- Miguel Daez kept up the strong performances for the Barons, as he placed seventh in the 800m with a time of 1:57.39. Nathaniel Tokarsky placed 26th.Â
- John Sicree took a second place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.60 to claim eight points.Â
- Nicholas Brass just missed the podium, as he placed ninth in the shot put with a best throw of 12.68m. Charles Jardine placed 16th, and Tyson Smith placed 27th.Â
- Alexander Blose had the best finish of any Franciscan field athlete, as he placed third in the pole vault. His best clearance was 3.70m (12' 1.5").
- David Di Nardo placed fifth in the 5000m with a time of 15:40.89. Recent Franciscan graduate, Mark Borek, placed second with a time of 15:27.87.Â
- Similar to the women's team, the men would set a new program record in the 4x400 meter relay. David Cappello, Ryan Ozymy, Miguel Daez, and Joseph Rohde combined to run a 3:22.09 to place third. That time is currently the second fastest in the PAC this season.Â
Up Next
The Barons will now set their focus on the PAC Championships which will take place in Morgantown on Thursday April 27th - Friday April 28th. This is the second season in a row that the Outdoor Championships have been hosted at this venue. Last season the Men finished fifth and the Women finished eighth, but they hope to have a better team finish this year.Â
