Race Highlights
Franciscan Men's Cross Country made the trip to Notre Dame for the National Catholic Championship on Friday afternoon. The Barons competed with several Division I and II schools in the field, as they placed 9th out of 10 teams in the event.
Andrew Madigan led the way for the Barons with a 74th place finish overall. His time of 27:38.00 was a new personal best time for him at the 5 mile distance.
Conal Delaney was just four runners behind him in 78th.
Seamus Sommers was just outside the top 100, as he ran a time of 29:17.80. Rounding out the top five finishers would be
Dominic Young and
Leland Blair, who finished back to back.Â
Host, Notre Dame, would take the title with a team score of 15 points. Franciscan finished second out of the three Division III schools that were present.

Franciscan will now have two weeks until their next meet. On September 29th, they will head to Thiel for the PAC Preview. This will give the Barons an early look at the PAC Championship course,as well as a view to where they rank up in the middle of the season with several other PAC schools.

The Annual Kelly Roggensack Memorial Races will take place for the 16th time in its history, once again kicking off a busy Saturday on Homecoming Weekend. The races will begin at 8 am onÂ
October 7th, 2023, with the 1K Kids Fun Run followed by the 5K Run & 3K Walk at 8:20 am.Â
