How It HappenedÂ
Franciscan entered yesterday's game on a record-breaking shutout streak. They extended that streak to five shutouts in a row. With now six shutouts on the season they are only a few away from resetting the season shutout record they placed last year.Â
The midfielders and defenders did most of the heavy lifting in the Barons shutout. They only allowed three shots and one shot on goal, so keeper
Aiden Miller had it pretty easy earning his 15th career shutout.
With the Barons needing to shuffle around their lineup
Christian Ludwig has earned his way into the top 11. He took advantage of his first start for the Barons scoring a goal in now back-to-back games.Â
By the Numbers
- Freshmen
Jonah Kline scored his first career goal
- Cross is up to 9 goals on the year and is 3rd in the PAC
- Franciscan's defense is 2nd in the PAC in goals against
Who's Next?
Franciscan remain on the road, as they head to Grove City on Wednesday. This will be a rematch of last season's PAC Championship. In that game, the Barons won 2-1 with Aidan Henniger scoring the game-winner early in the second half. The Barons also beat the Wolverines in the regular season. Historically, the Wolverine have had the upper-hand, as they are 7-3 all-time against the Barons. This matchup will be #1 vs. #2 in the PAC, as the winner will hold a tiebreaker over the other in conference seeding.Â
