Men Tally Three Goals in Senior Day

Franciscan 3, Hiram 1

Starting XI
Benjamin James, Michael Peppiatt, Augustine Rubino, Andrew Goduti, Anthony Venditti, George Phillips, Lucas Cross, Zachary Muldoon, Aidan Henninger, Jonah Kline, & Goalkeeper - Aiden Miller

How It Happened
The Barons entered their 2025 Senior Day contest needing a bounce back win to both get back on track for playoff play and hold off Allegheny to keep their #2 seed and quarterfinal bye.
After having a rough stretch the last couple of weeks, the Barons were focused and had a sense of urgency. They tallied three goals in the first half and doubled the Terriers shot production. Miller was just three minutes away from his 6th shutout of the season. The Terriers played a long ball to the center of the box. Their striker was well covered up by a Baron defender and Miller came out of the net to scoop up the rolling ball. Instead of allowing him to grab the ball, the defender cut across the keeper and took a couple touches. He had the ball taken from him, and the Terrier striker was staring at a wide open net. An unfortunate miscue, but irrelevant to the team's position.

By the Numbers
- The Barons out-shot their opponents 18-8
- Miller made 5 saves
- Cross's goal is his 11th of the season making him 3rd in the PAC

Who's Next?
Franciscan remains at home to conclude the regular season on Wednesday against Geneva. The Barons are just 3-12-4 all-time against the Golden Tornadoes, including three consecutive ties. All three of Franciscan's wins over Geneva have come in Steubenville. Geneva was picked to finish third, one spot below Franciscan's predicted finish, in the PAC this season, but they are trying to hold onto a playoff spot in a crowded conference.
