Bison No Match For Barons

Franciscan 5, Bethany 0

Starting XI
Augustine Rubino, Andrew Goduti, Anthony Venditti, George Phillips, Barker Maddox, Lucas Cross, Zachary Muldoon, Aidan Henninger, Colm Corcoran, Anthony Lipnicky, & Goalkeeper - Aiden Miller

How It Happened
Franciscan continues their unbeaten streak in the PAC toppling the Biso 5-0. The Baron-Bison matchup is traditionally a heated one, with big postseason showdowns in recent years. The Bison made an historic run in 2021 and upset the Barons at home in the PAC championship. The following year the Barons defeated the Bison in the championship for their first PAC title. In '23 and '24 the Baron Bison game always had significant implications on postseason standings. Today the Barons showed they continue to compete at a championship level caliber.
In the first half, the Baros could've played tighter. As a result, their possession, chances, and goals were limited. Although leading 2-0, coach was not happy with the level of play from the men. Halftime brought a refreshed mindset and sharper play. The Barons tallied up a few more goals and allowed everyone a chance to see the field before time expired with the Barons recording their 4th shutout in a row.

By the Numbers
- Lucas Cross had two goals on three SOG
- Christian Ludwig had a multi-point performance scoring his first goal as a Baron
- Miller recorded 4 saves in the shutout

Who's Next?
Franciscan remain in PAC play, as they head to Thiel on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. match. The Barons are 9-2-2 all-time against the Tomcats, including wins in the last five meetings. Last year, the Barons won 7-0. Ryan Miller and Julien Freemen each scored a pair in the big win in Steubenville last season.
