How It Happened
In the opening night of the PAC Championship, the Barons swam in a pair of relays to get the championship underway.
The first event was the 200 medley relay, and the Barons had two entries in this event. The Barons placed fifth with their fastest time of the season in this event. The group of
Kate Kinst,
Katarina Antonov,
Bridget Bartosik, and
Sophia Gellner combined to swim a time of 1:59.35. The Barons also placed 13th with the team of
Avery Schmitz,
Faith Vande Hey,
Jessica Stiles, and
Emma Grojean.
The Barons also had an A and B relay in the 800 freestyle relay. Kinst, Antonov, Bartosik and Gellner placed fifth again with a time of 8:34.36 in the 800 freestyle relay.
Ramona DiNardo,
Emma Grojean,
Cecilia White, and
Jessica Stiles picked up eight points in 13th place.
Up Next
Day #2 of the PAC Swimming and Diving Championships will be a busy one for the Barons. In the morning preliminaries, Franciscan will have swimmers in the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, and 50 freestyle. Those swimmers look to make it to the evening finals which will have those events, as well as the 400 medley freestyle relay.
