How It Happened 
    The Franciscan men's soccer team battled to a resilient 1-1 draw against Hiram College on Saturday evening at Charles A. Henry Field. The Barons (0-4-1, 0-0-1 PAC) weathered a heavy first-half offensive storm from the Terriers, relying on a disciplined defensive front anchored by goalkeeper Aiden Miller. Miller put together an exceptional performance under pressure, turning away five early on-target attempts from Hiram in the first 45 minutes alone to keep the match scoreless at the break. Andrew Goduti generated Franciscan's best look of the opening frame in the 45th minute, firing a sharp low strike that was saved.
    The Franciscan attack broke the deadlock at the 71:23 mark when Noah Haggerty collected a well-timed assist from Anthony Venditti and buried the game's opening goal. However, the 1-0 advantage was short-lived. Just minutes later, a defensive foul in the box resulted in a yellow card for Seth Lange and a game-tying penalty kick goal from Hiram's Carmine Boscarello. The final minutes turned into a tactical defensive stand for the Barons. Miller made a crucial stop on a high shot in the 87th minute, and a late rocket from Santiago Bracho nearly claimed the game-winner before being stopped by a Terrier team save. Miller handled one final shot in the closing minute to secure the hard-earned road point, finishing the evening with seven total saves.
