Men's Track & Field runner
Liam Galligan made one last effort to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships at Ohio Northern on Saturday. He decided to focus on the one mile run, as he felt it was his best event to qualify in for the indoor season. Galligan entered the day in 45th in the nation with a season best time of 4:14.05. He shattered that record by running his best time and a new venue record time of 4:09.95. At the moment, that time would tie for 12th best in the nation, but with other runners running acrross the nation, we will have to wait and see if that time will hold to make the trip to the NCAA National Championship.Â
Teammate
Austen Duggan made the trip to help pace Liam for the first 800 meters, which proved to help tremendously.Â
Up Next
Liam will have to wait and see if his time will hold in the top 20 of Division III. The final descending order lists will be posted by 7 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, March 6 onÂ
ncaa.com. For each men's individual event contested (including the heptathlon), the top 20 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.Â
