Short Story: A handful of runners place in the top 10, as they compete amongst Division I and II runners on a chilly sprid day at Slippery Rock. 

Race Highlights for the Women

• In the 400 meter dash, Ashlin LaFond was the best finisher for the Lady Barons with a time of 1:05.53 to place 23rd. Alice McAnespie was less than a second behind her in 29th place.
• Rachel Hurley placed 39th in the 800 meter run out of 67 runners. Her time was 2:39.66.
• Five Lady Barons were amongst the 79 runners in the 1500 meter run. Shannon Wieszczek led the way in 26th place with a 5:11.93. Elizabeth Atkins placed 28th, Jessica Campbell 30th, Rachel Hurley 32nd, and Sydney Lorentz 68th. 
• Alison Bryant beat all the Division III runners in the 5000 meter run with a time of 18:36.65. She placed 5th behind a couple of Division I and II runners. 
• Shannon Wieszczek made her long jump debut for the spring with a 41st place finish with a best mark of 4.07m.
• Brigid Mack had an impressive 8th place finish out of 58 throwers in the discus. Her best throw traveled 36.76m.

Race Highlights for the Men

• In the 100 meter dash, James Ricketts led the way for the Barons with a time of 11.98 to place 49th. Joseph Rohde placed 55th.
• Rohde had a stronger showing in the 200 meter run, as he placed 18th with a time of 23.11. Teammate David Cappello placed 36th with a time of 24.23 while Ricketts placed 45th.
• Cappello had his best finish of the day in the 400 meter run, as he placed 8th. His time of 51.74 was just a second off te first place runner from Carnegie Mellon. Francisco Tona placed 39th.
• In the 800 meter run, a pair of Barons placed in the top 15. Ryan Ozymy placed 12th with a time of 2:00.42, and Easton Syvertson came in 14th with a time of 2:00.76. Nathaniel Tokarsky placed 37th.
• Liam Galligan ran in the 1500 meter where he placed 3rd with a time of 3:56.34. That was his first time running in this event this spring, and it looks like it will be a top 25 time in the nation so far. Five other Barons ran in this event with Mark Borek being the next best finisher with a time of 4:03.43.
• In the 5000 meter run, David Di Nardo was the best Franciscan finisher with a time of 16:03.34. He placed 16th with his teammate, George Kaftan one spot behind him in 17th. Conal Delaney placed 27th, and Francis Langley placed 45th. 
• Mike Sobus placed 13th in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:48.25. 
• Franciscan had the fastest 4x400 relay team of all the Division III schools today with a time of 3:32.41. The team consisted of Miguel Daez, Austen Duggan, Easton Syvertson, and Ryan Ozymy. 
• In the discus, Christopher Sniffin placed 48th with a best throw of 31.18m. 
• Jonathon Meinholz threw javelin today and placed 20th out of 44 athletes. His best throw was 40.03 meters.
