How It Happened
Franciscan Women's Swimming & Diving made the trip out east to Juniata on Saturday afternoon for a Tri-Meet with them and Marywood. 

The meet started with the 400 meter medley relay. The team of Kate Kinst, Faith Vade Hey, Jessica Stiles, and Bridget Bartosik placed third with a time of 5:19.73, and the team of Ramona DiNardo, Emma Grojean, Sydney McGee, and Magdalena Kleb placed fourth. 

Event 5, 200 meter freestyle, was the Barons' first win of the day. Kate Kinst swam it in a time of 2:24.27. She won the event by one second and was two seconds off the program record.

Another program record was almost broken in the 50 meter freestyle. Bridget Bartosik placed second with a time of 31.16 seconds, which was one second away from a 10-year old program record.

Kinst then placed third in a closely, contested 400 meter freestyle. She did so in a time of 5:11.38. Bartosik placed second once again, this time in the 50 meter butterfly. She posted a time of 33.78 seconds. 

The meet concluded with the 400 meter freestyle relay. The team of Faith Vade Hey, Sophia Gellner, Bridget Bartosik, and Kate Kinst placed second, just two seconds behind the winning team from Juniata. 

Up Next
Franciscan Women's Swimming & Diving will have a month off before hosting their lone home meet of the 2024-25 season. It will be on December 7th at 1:00 p.m. at the Big Red Natatorium. It will serve as Senior Day for the Barons as well. Franciscan will take on Grove City and Bethany in this PAC Tri-Meet that will conclude their competition for the fall semester.
