Short Story: The Barons had a great showing, including one program record in the first meet of the 2025-26 season.

Results

Highlights for the Women

• Maria McInnis led the Barons in the 60m dash with a time of 8.66 seconds. That was just six hundredths of a second off her collegiate-best time for a strong start to the season for the sophomore. Mary Durnan also posted a time of 8.78, as she was the other Baron to complete in less than nine seconds.
• Durnan edged McInnis in the 200m by less than two tenths of a second with a time of 29.17 seconds.
• Newcomer, Lucy Pontzer was the fastest Baron in the 800m with a time of 3:13.14. Natalie Meyer was just six seconds behind her. 
• Rachel Descamps, Madeline Kramer, and Elizabeth San Miguel competed in the 3000m, with Descamps being the first to finish. 
• McInnis continued her amazing day with a program record in the long jump. She had a best jump of 4.84m, which bested Alana Bradford's record from 2023. 

Highlights for the Men

• Andrew Menck was the fastest Baron in the 60m dash. His time of 7.22 seconds was just seven hundredths of a second off the program record, as he looks to make a run at that mark this season. Mark Biagi, AJ Gates, and Anthony Fernandes each posted strong times as well.
• Callum Wallenfang made his collegiate Track & Field debut with a sub 20 minute 5K. 
• Menck was also near his personal-best time in the 200m, as he placed 27th with a time of 22.83 seconds.
• Dwayne Gethard placed 19th in the 800m with a time of 2:02.39.
• Four Barons ran in the mile, as Chris Geiger was the fastest with a time under five minutes in his collegiate debut. 
• Luke Tran posted a best triple jump of 10.57m and a long jump of 5.04m.

Up Next
The Barons will return to competition in 2026. They will return to Youngstown State on January 16th for the YSU Collegiate Invitational. This will be their second of five events at their home away from home in the indoor season.
