How It HappenedÂ
Franciscan Men's Lacrosse headed south down the Ohio River to take on Marietta on a warm February afternoon. The Barons suffered a slow start in the opening quarter. They took just two shots in the opening quarter, as the Pioneers won the faceoff and clears battle. That led to them scoring nine, unanswered goals to start the game and take control. James Masso and Thomas LeBlanc were able to add goals before halftime, but they trailed 10-2 at the break.
Seven different Barons scored in the second half. The Barons were able to win the second half, but they were not able to overcome the large deficit from the first half. The Barons cleared the ball much better and had very few turnovers in the second half. They played much better in the second half, and hopefully, they can bring that play to the upcoming non-conference tests.Â
Inside the NumbersÂ
- Masso led the Barons with two goals.
- Joseph James tied the program record for points with his three-point day.
- Thomas LeBlanc caused four turnovers.
- John Kirk faced 33 shots on goal and saved 17.
Up Next
