Highlights for the Women
- Several Barons ran the 5000m on Friday night. Franciscan had runners place 5th, 6th, and 7th. Emily Maag placed fifth with a time of 19:40.17. Four seconds behind Maag was Teresa Meli and Katherine Ptak.
- Mary Durnan made her mark on the 100m. She ran the second-fastest time in program history with a time of 13.33 seconds. Maria McInnis was just behind her with a time of 13.41 seconds.
- Durnan was also the fastest Baron in the 200m with a time of 28.42 seconds.
- Lauren Dosch made a strong first impression of the outdoor season with a fifth-place finish in the 400m. She ran a time of 1:00.17, the fifth-fastest time in program history.
- Dosch kept up the impressive day with a fourth-place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:21.60.
- 10 Barons ran in the 1500m. Emily Maag was the fastest with a time of 5:11.01.
- The 'A' relay team in the 4x400m placed third. Kathryn Bolster, Lauren Dosch, Mary Kennedy, and Elizabeth Schmiesing combined to run the event in a time of 4:19.02.
- McInnis placed sixth in the long jump and tied her best outdoor performance with a jump of 4.87m. That is tied for the second-best jump in program history.Â
- Durnan placed ninth in the triple jump with her best jump of 9.10m.
Highlights for the Men
- Joseph Rohde was the headline, as he broke Ryan Ozymy's program record in the 400m with a time of 48.45 seconds.
- On Friday evening, Maxwell Bruns led the Barons with a third-place finish in the 5000m. He posted a PR with a time of 15:23.68. Micah Bragg and Seamus Sommers placed 15th and 16th in this talented field.
- In the 100m, Andrew Menck posted the fourth-fastest time in program history to place eighth. He ran the sprint in 11.20 seconds.
- Menck then broke his own program record in the 200m and placed third in an impressive field. He ran it in 22.35 seconds.
- Luke Hurley placed 24th in the 800m with a time of 2:01.86.
- Bruns and Hurley were the top two finishers for the Barons in the 1500m. Bruns placed 10th with a time of 4:08.50, and Hurley was in 16th with a time of 4:11.51.
- Dwayne Gethard, Chris Geiger, Joseph Rohde, and Garrett Russell placed second in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:27.08.
- AJ Gates set the outdoor program record in the pole vault with his clearance of 3.95m.
- Andre Menck and Luke Tran placed 19th and 21st in the long jump.
- Tran posted a personal best in the triple jump with a performance of 11.12m
- Nicholas Brass had a best throw of 12.76m in the shot put
Up Next
The Barons will head to Cedarville next weekend to compete in the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Open. This will be their last meet in March and the last one before Easter Break.
