BETHANY, WV – The Franciscan men's and women's track and field teams had an impressive showing at the Bethany Invitational with five All-Ohio championship marks, last Saturday.

The men's team finished ninth out of 14 teams with 45 points while the Lady Barons took 11
th with 13 points.
Sophomore
Liam Galligan posted a pair of wins on the day as he took first in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.49 and won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:37.77. Both times earned Galligan a spot in the All-Ohio championship meet.
Joining Galligan in the top-10 of the 800-meter run was sophomores
Austen Duggan and
Mark Borek, and senior
Nick Long. Duggan took seventh overall at 2:02.67 and Borek came in ninth at 2:04.31. Long rounded out the top-10 at 10
th overall with a personal-best time of 2:04.37.
Long also posted a first-place finish as he won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with an All-Ohio championship qualifying time of 9:58.78.
In the 200-meter dash, sophomore James Craig took eighth overall and qualified for the All-Ohio championships as he crossed the finish line at 23.24.
Senior
Grady Stuckman won the 10,000-meter run as he finished with a personal-best time of 33:49.50.
Sophomore
Sean Growe took 10
th overall with a personal best throw of 13.43 meters (44' 0.75') in the shot put.
On the women's side, freshman Allison Bryant picked up a pair of All-Ohio qualifiers. Bryant took second overall in the 5,000-meter run as she finished with a personal-best time of 19:10.67. The freshman finished seventh in the 1,500-meter run as she crossed the line at 5:03.86 for another personal best.
Freshman
Claire Dawyot and
Ashlin LaFond rounded out the individual top-10 finishes for the Lady Barons as they took eighth and 10
th, respectively. Dawyot finished eighth with a personal-best outdoor time of 2:30.45 and LaFond took 10
th with a time of 2:34.85.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Dawyot, LaFond,
Elizabeth Atkins and Bryant took seventh in the relay with a time of 4:33.20.
The teams will get back on the track next Saturday as they travel to Alliance, OH for the John Homon Open, hosted by University of Mount Union.
