Track & Field Hits Several PRs at All-Ohio Championships

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Franciscan men's and women's track and field team posted several personal bests at the All-Ohio Championship this past Saturday.

Sophomore Liam Galligan continued his incredible sophomore campaign as he set a personal-best in his win of the 5,000 meter run with a time of 14:55.20. Classmate Mark Borek also posted a PR as he took fourth overall in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:00.25. Senior Nick Long rounded out the top-eight finishers for the men as he took sixth overall with a time of 9:46.99, just over a second off of his personal and school record.
 
A trio of Barons set personal bests in the very tough 10,000 meter run. Leading the pack was senior Grady Stuckman. Stuckman took 11th overall with a time of 33:47.40. Freshman Michael Sobus finished 24th overall with a personal-best time of 37:30.11 and sophomore Matthew Murphy finished 286th with a PR of 43:44.39.
 
Senior Michael Orsatti posted a PR in the 200-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 22.96 while sophomore Easton Syvertson hit a PR in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.82.
 
On the women's side, the Lady Barons hit eight PRs. Freshman Allison Bryant hit a personal best in the 5,000 meter run as she crossed the line eighth overall with a time of 18:34.89.
 
In the 10,000-meter run, three Lady Barons hit PRs. Sophomore Sydni Cain came in 15th with a time of 48:40.34 while freshman Sydney Lorentz was right behind in 16th with a time of 48:41.66. Freshman Taylor Smith rounded out the three Lady Barons as she took 17th with a time of 49:07.03.
 
Sophomore Ashlin LaFond posted a pair of PRs as she took 14th overall with a time of 1:03.92 in the 400-meter dash and 26th in the 200-meter dash at 28.33.
 
Freshman Brigid Kelly took 27th overall with a time of 18.88 and a personal best in the 100-meter hurdles while junior Kristine Stickney hit a PR in the 3000-meter steeplechase as she finished 17th with a time of 12:39.66.
 
The men's and women's track and field teams return to action on Wednesday when they head to the Bethany Quad Meet in Bethany, WV.
