SWARTHMORE, Pa. – A handful of Franciscan track and field athletes competed at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier Meet on Monday. Several runners hit personal bests during the final meet of the season.
Senior
Nick Long capped his career with Franciscan with a school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Long previously held the record at 9:45.13, which he set last year at the ECAC Outdoor Championships. Long broke his record by .04 as he took 17
th overall. Freshman Michael Sobus hit a personal-record in the race as well as he took 30
th overall with a time of 11:03.35.
Sophomore
Easton Syvertson set a personal best in the long jump as he posted a distance of 5.86 meters and took 11
th overall. Classmate
Liam Galligan posted his career best in the 1,500-meter run and narrowly missed an NCAA championship qualifying mark as he finished 29
th overall with a time of 3:52.93.
On the women's side, sophomore
Kristine Stickney posted her career best in the 3000-meter steeple as she took 21
st overall with a time of 12:28.25.
