Youngstown, Ohio- Franciscan Athletics is back! Franciscan's Men's and Women's Track & Field teams took part in the Youngstown State University Invitational, with the teams showcasing their skills against NCAA Division I & II competition.

Liam Galligan opened the season with a bang, recording a career best time in the 5000m event. Galligan finished fourth in the event and his time of 15:09.13 is the second-best time in school history.
Mark Borek also competed in the 5000m event finishing 14
th with a time of 16:06.96. Â

Junior Austen Duggan also had a strong start to his season, taking fourth in the 800m event. His time of 1:58.54 was a career best and the second-best time in school history.
Easton Syvertson took part in the 400m event, finishing seventh in the event with a time of 53.13.
Aidan Kay was the final Baron to take part in the Invitational, finishing the mile in a time of 5:39.55. Â
The Franciscan Women's Track & Field team was led by
Ashlin LaFond. LaFond took part in the mile, finishing 11th overall in a time of 5:58.39.
Sydney Lorentz posted a career best time in the 3000m event with a time of 12:26.98. The time is the fifth fastest in school history.
