How It Happened
The Barons would fall to the Wolverines on the road 12-4 in a PAC conference game.
Franciscan would load the bases up in the top of the first, after back to back singles and a walk. The Barons would not be able to score a run, as the next three batters would pop out to not get out to an early lead. Grove City would jump out to a lead in the bottom half of the inning, as they would score three runs on a home run by Saylor.
Franciscan would level it up at 3-3 in the top of the second inning.
Patrick Wallace would single in
Brendan Burke.
Austin Horan would reach on a fielder's choice that would score Wallace, and roped a single down the left field line that would score Horan. The Wolverine bats would continue to show their pop in the home half of the second, as Clary hit a two run shot off of Franciscan starter,
Noah Smith. The Wolverines would chase off Smith, as they added three more runs. Coach
Rick Carver would go to the bullpen, and
John Pennefather would come in relief.
In the fourth
Joshua Costello would rip a double to left field.
Kyle Ferrance would single him in to set the score at 8-4. Orner would deliver a two RBI double to center in the home half of the inning, to give the Wolverines a 10-4 edge. Grove City would tack on another run in the bottom of the 7th and eighth innings to stretch the lead to 12-4. The Barons would get two hits in th bottom of the ninth, but not be able to bring a run around.

Up Next
Franciscan is scheduled to play Geneva on Thursday for a night doubleheader with the first game starting at 6 pm. This will be the first matchup between the Golden Tornadoes and Barons in baseball. Geneva is 6-15 in PAC play this season.
