Race: WVU Last Chance Meet at Mylan Park
Location: Morgantown, W.Va.
Date: May 8, 2021
The Franciscan Men's and Women's Track & Field teams traveled to Mylan Park, the site of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship to compete in the WVU Last Chance Meet. This non-team score meet gave athletes from across different NCAA Divisions one final opportunity to improve their times in hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Championships later this spring.
Race Highlights for the Women

Miranda Rose took fourth in the 400 Meter Dash, posting a time of 1:06.12. Rose would go on to finish third in the 200 Meter Dash, recording a time of 30.56

Sydni Cain clocked in at a time of 20:26.67 in the 5000 Meter Run
- Alli Sommer completed the Women's 1500 Meter in a time of 5:48.26, just outpacing teammate
Taylor Smith who finished in a time of 5:56.19

Ashlin LaFond took part in the 800 Meter Run, finishing in a time of 2:30.07

Alison Bryant closed out the event by finishing third in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase, finishing in a time of 11:14.52.
Race Highlights for the Men

Christopher Sniffin threw in the Men's Discus finishing sixth with a best throw of 31.03m

Michael Herrmann took fifth in the 110 Meter Hurdles finishing in a time of 18.12. He also took fifth in the 400 Meter Hurdles, finishing in a time of 1:07.89
- David Capello took second in the 400 Meter Dash, recording a time of 50.2. Capello also took fifth in the 200 Meter Dash, posting a time of 24.00

George Kaftan took second in the 5000 Meter run finishing in a time of 15:17.56
- Michael Sobus and Matthew Murphy also took part in the 5000 Meter, posting fifth and ninth place finishes

Liam Galligan posted his best time of the season in the 1500 Meter run, finishing in a time of 3:55.21. This time ranks Galligan in the top 50 nationally

Mark Borek finished third in the 1500 Meter, running the event in a time of 4:05.47
- Nate Tokarsky and
Francis Langley also ran the 1500, finishing eighth and ninth

Franciscan will have the PAC Last Chance Meet at Westminster on the 12th, as many Franciscan runners attempt to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships that will take place later this month.Â
