Short Story: A handful of runners participate in the limited events of Day #1 of the PAC Championships. Bridget Mack sets a new school record in the discuss, as she places 2nd. Liam Galligan has a strong showing in the 5k at the Penn Relays. 

Race Highlights for the Women

• Freshman Bridget Mack shattered her school record in the discuss, as she threw a best throw of 41.38 meters to place second and earn the first medal for the Lady Barons. When talking to Coach Vince Oliver on the freshman finishing second, he said the following. "Brigid shows up each and every day ready to work. She is in the weight room at 6:30 every day with coach Carlo Fabian and at the track  in snow, rain or shine with Coach Paul Rue. She is just beginning to tap into her potential, as she is going to continue to do great things here at Franciscan" That throw ranks her as 30th best in the nation at the moment.

Race Highlights for the Men

• Danny Donovan would get the Barons on the board with an 8th place finish in the 10,000 meter run. His time of 34:31.33 just got him on the edge of the podium and earned the team one point. 
• James Ricketts ran in the 100 meter preliminaries, as he place 17th with a time of 12.20. He will not move on to the final heat on Friday.
• Across the state of Pennsylvania, Liam Galligan competed in the Penn Relays with numerous Division I runners from all over the nation. Galligan ran in the College Men's 5000 meter Championship. Galligan ran a time of 14:24.27 just shy of William Jones' nine year old school record. Jones was able to be at the track to cheer on Galligan on Thursday night. Galligan will travel back to compete in the PAC Championship on Friday.
