Highlights for the Women
- The highlight from Friday night came from Kimbria Lance. She broke her school record in the pole vault with a best clearance of 3.25m. Maria McInnis had a best long jump of 4.52m just .02 off of her collegiate best. Nora Hilgeman placed 40th in the long jump.
- In the lone running event for Franciscan on Friday, Madison Gallagher led the Barons with a 25th place finish in the 5000m with a new PR time. MaryKate McCusker placed 28th, and Kendra Antol placed 33rd with a new PR as well
- Maria McInnis posted a PR time of 8.76 seconds in the 60m dash.
- Hilgeman was the lone Baron in the 200m, as she ran the event in 30.83 seconds.
- Rebecca Bolster ran a season-best time of 1:06.86 in the 400m to place 27th.
- Lauren Dosch was the highlight of Saturday, as she won the 800m with a season-best time of 2:18.71. She beat the field of 57 athletes which had DI, II, and III athletes in it by almost a full second.
- In the final event, the 4x400m relay, the group of Rebecca Bolster, Kathryn Bolster, Jessica Campbell, and Lauren Dosch placed sixth with a time of 4:19.91. That was the fastest of the season and fifth fastest in program history.Â
Highlights for the Men
- On Friday night, Andrew Madigan placed third in the 5000m with a time of 15:33.72, just a few seconds off of his PR time from two weeks ago.Â
- Mark Biagi was the fastest Baron in the 60m dash with a time of 7.40 seconds. Thomas Baillargeon was right behind him with a PR time of 7.41 seconds.
- John Sicree posted a time of 9.72 seconds in the 60m hurdles, as he was the lone Baron in that event.
- Dwayne Gethard was the fastest Baron in the 200m with a time of 23.54 seconds to place 35th. He also led the Barons in the 400m with a time of 52.23 seconds to place 17th.
- Mark Biagi had a best clearance of 1.85m in the high jump, the second-best showing in program history.
- Luke Saarinen was the best Baron in the long jump at YSU with a jump of 5.36mÂ
- Nicholas Brass continues his improvement in shot put this season with a best throw of 12.67m to place 12th.
Up Next
The Barons will have a weekend off before returning to action on February 15th at the Spire Indoor Games and the All-Ohio Challenge. The team will split up with some athletes, who qualify, making the trip to Otterbein in the All-Ohio Challenge with the rest Heading North to the Spire Institute. It will be the final tune-up before the Barons compete at the PAC Indoor Championships on February 27th.Â
