Highlights for the Women
- Rebecca Bolster was the fastest Baron in the 200m, as she placed 13th with a time of 29.19 seconds in the field of 23 runners. Maria McInnis was right behind her in 14th, and Nora Hilgeman placed 17th.
- Mary Grace Gauntner placed 7th in the 400m with a tome of 1:06.79.
- Lauren Dosch placed second in the 800m and was the fastest Division III runner with a time of 2:19.87.
- Jessica Campbell reached the podium as well with a fourth place finish in the 1500m. Her time of 4:49.25 is among the Top 10 fastest in program history in this event.Â
- Claire Walters won the 5000m run, as she held off a pair of Division II runners down the stretch. She ran the event in a time of 18:17.68, the fifth fastest in program history. Emily Maag placed fourth with a time of 19:44.97.
- Anne O'Boyle, Rebecca Bolster, Meredith Tentor, and Faith Vande Hey combined to run the 4x400 relay in a time of 4:42.29.
- Maria McInnis placed third in the long jump with a PR jump of 4.87m. That was the second-longest jump in program history. Nora Hilgeman placed eighth.
- Hilgeman also competed in the triple jump. She placed third with a best jump of 9.45m, the fifth-best showing in program history.
- On Friday, Mariana Lavigne won the javelin with a best throw of 32.88m. That throw is the second-best in program history.
- That resulted in the Barons finishing 5th of the 10 competing teams, third among NCAA Division III teams.
Highlights for the Men
- In the 100m, Luke Tran and Ethan Neels competed for Franciscan.
- Thomas Baillargeon was the fastest Baron in the 200m with a time of 23.34 seconds.
- Dwayne Gethard placed 5th in the 400m dash with a time of 51.07 seconds.
- Ryan Ozymy continued his strong outdoor season with a win in the 800m. His time of 1:55.24 was a new meet record time, as he beat the field by greater than a second and a half. Luke Hurley also earned points as he placed fifth in this fast field.
- John Sicree kept up the success with a first-place finish in the 400m hurdles. His time of 58.42 seconds is the third-fastest in program history.
- The team of John Sicree, Dwayne Gethard, Mark Biagi, and Thomas Baillargeon shattered the program record in the 4x100 relay with a time of 43.46 seconds. Gethard and Sicree were part of the previous record from last season.
- Mark Biagi broke the program, outdoor record in the high jump, as he placed second with a clearance of 1.85m.Â
- Thomas Baillargeon kept up the record-breaking, as he set the program record in the long jump. His jump of 6.02m placed him 8th in the talented field. Daniel Bolster placed 13th.
- Nicholas Brass and Charles Jardine placed sixth and seventh in the shot put.Â
- John Lucey placed 17th in the discus.
- That all resulted in 46.33 points for the Barons to place 7th out of nine competing teams.
Up Next
The Barons will remain busy this semester, as they return to competition on Friday, April 4th at Ohio University. They will compete in the Cherry Blossom Invitational. The one-day event is tentatively scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m. in Athens.
