- Franciscan got back in the win column with an excellent win over OAC opponent Marietta College
- The scoring opened with Baron and PAC Newcomer of the Week, George Phillips, sinking a goal four minutes into the game
- The Pioneers equalized in the 65th minute
- Lucas Cross netted the winning goal in the 80th minute, for his 2nd goal of the season and 11th game-winning goal of his career
-They will welcome the undefeated University of Mount Union Raiders to Steubenville for another non-conference matchup on Wednesday

Scouting the Purple Raiders
- The Purple Raiders come into the matchup 4-0-1, with their only tie coming against Transylvania University
- They have not blown teams away with offensive production, scoring 10 goals in five games, but they have only given up five goals
- They have out-shot opponents 57-52 and have attempted 32 shots on goal to their opponents' 20
- The Purple Raiders have played two PAC foes, taking down Waynesburg 2-1 and the newest PAC member, Hiram 1-0
- In the NCAA DIII National rankings from September 9th, Mount Union received votes from some coaches but fell just outside the Top 25

Getting the Offense Going
- The Barons broke their three-game scoreless streak almost immediately against Marietta with freshman George Phillips sinking one off an assist from Anthony Venditti
- They did not out-shoot Marietta overall on Saturday, but they attempted more shots on goal, led by Phillips with two
- Lucas Cross, who has been their leading scorer for the last two seasons, got back in the scoring column for the first time since Beaver

Defensive Matchup
- Despite their 2-4 record, the Barons have been solid on the defensive end, giving up only seven goals
- The Raiders have only given up five goals in their five games
- Neither team has given up more than two goals in a game so far
- Franciscan goalie Aiden Miller has recorded 23 saves and two wins, while Mount Union goalie Jackson Callendar has 15 saves and three wins 

Conference Crossover
- Mount Union will be the Barons' 3rd matchup with a school from the Ohio Athletic Conference
- In their previous matchups they fell 0-1 to Capital University before their recent 2-1 win over Marietta
- They have out-shot their OAC opponents 32-29 and have 12 shots on goal to their opponents' 10
- The Purple Raiders look to be one of the toughest opponents thus far, but if the conference matchups are any indication, the Barons could have opportunities to strike

- Lucas Cross is closing in on 3rd place in the all-time points record with 86, trailing Nick Miller '22 with 90.
- With his game-winner on Saturday, he tied Coach Miller for second all-time in game-winning goals. Both men sit with 11 game-winners, trailing Leo Hermann with 16
- Junior goalie Aiden Miller sits 4th all-time in wins with 19 and is approaching Thomas Dosedel '18, who is third with 23 wins. Miller is also 3rd all-time in shutouts with 11. Brian Gaughan '21 is second with 13. He is also sixth in saves with 136, which trails William Herrmann, who has 151 in fifth all-time.
