The Latest
- The Barons dropped their last contest 0-1 on Wednesday against Capital University
- A stifling defensive effort for both teams as the game-winning goal didn't come until the 82nd minute
- It was a physical match from both teams that saw three Franciscan players and four Capital players receive yellow cards
-The Barons led the Comets in both shots and shots on goal, but were unable to send one into the net

Scouting the Tigers
- Wittenberg University finished last season 4-7-3, finishing 6th in the NCAC
- The Tigers come into this matchup red-hot to start the 2025 season, with wins against Heidelberg and Mount St. Joseph, and a tie against Michigan-Dearborn
- They've outscored opponents 6-1
- They've outshot opponents 63-12 and attempted 30 shots on goal while their opponents have only attempted 9
- This will be the first matchup, all-time between the Barons and the Tigers

Trusting Our Guys
- Unlike the previous game against Penn State Beaver, the Barons relied heavily on their starters, with six of them playing the full 90 minutes
- Only five substitutes were brought in
- The five seniors in the starting lineup only exited for a combined 40 minutes all game, with Aidan Henninger, Zachary Muldoon, and Augustine Rubino playing the full 90
- This contest against the Tigers looks to be another competitive matchup, so the Barons may lean heavily on their core once again

Keys to Success
- The Barons will need to continue to put the offense in opportunities to score after being shut out in two out of three games
- Despite not putting one through the net, they were able to get opportunities for top goal scorers Andrew Goduti and Lucas Cross, with eight shot attempts and three shots on goal between them against Capital
- The defense has been solid, only giving up three goals, and they will need to continue to do so against a Wittenberg team that has offensively bulldozed opponents thus far

Record Tracker
- Lucas Cross sits at 4th on the all-time points record with 84 points, trailing Nick Miller '22 with 90.
- He is also chasing down Coach Miller in game-winning goals. Entering 2025, Cross had 10 game-winning goals, which is third most all-time. Miller sits in second with 11.
- Junior goalie Aiden Miller sits 4th all-time in wins with 18 and is approaching Thomas Dosedel '18, who is third with 23 wins. Miller is also 3rd all-time in shutouts with 11. Brian Gaughan '21 is second with 13. He is also sixth in saves with 118, which trails William Herrmann, who has 151 in fifth all-time.
