- Franciscan has had a busy indoor season. They have competed at eight different meets from December 5th to just last weekend in the WGH PAC Tune-up.
- This will be their fifth time competing in Youngstown this season.
- After finishing 9th last season, the Barons were picked to finish 10th in this year's Championship via the Pre-Championship Coaches' Poll.
- With the addition of Hiram to the PAC, the conference implemented qualifying for Championships this season. The Top 24 declared athletes of each event, plus coaches can add two Wild Card entries per gender. Each team gets one relay team in the 4x400 and Distance Medley Relay (DMR) as well.

Athletes to Watch
16 men are slated to compete for Franciscan on Thursday. Four Barons were listed as Athletes to Watch.

Maxwell Bruns (Fr. Gilbert, Ariz. / Arete Preparatory) will have a busy day. He is slated to run in the 5000m, 3000m, and 4x400 relay. He is seeded 8th in the 5000m with a season-best time of 15:44.31 from the Doug Raymond Invitational, and his time of 8:56.81 is seventh-fastest in the PAC in the 3000m. The 4x400 relay team is seeded fifth, which will allow them to run in the faster heat. Bruns is a substitution from Head Coach James Walters. He ran in the event once this season, but he was not a part of the top relay team in the regular season.

Luke Hurley (So. Sterling, Va. / Homeschool) is scheduled to run in the mile and DMR. His converted mile time of 4:28.07 from Mount Union in January is the seventh-fastest in the conference. He was also a part of the top DMR team that is seeded third in the PAC with a time of 10:58.10, a time they ran in Youngstown during the YSU Mid Major Invitational.

Joseph Rohde (Gr. Steubenville, Ohio / Steubenville Catholic Central) will compete in his final PAC Indoor Championship on Thursday. He has earned All-PAC honors on four different occasions at the Indoor Championship over the years, and he hopes to add to that list by excelling in a pair of events this year. Rohde is seeded 3rd in the 400m from his time of 49.66 seconds in the YSU Last Chance. He will join Bruns in the 4x400 relay, the last event of the night.

Daniel Wilson (So. Williamstown, Mich. / Williamstown) has steadily improved all season and looks to make some noise at the Championship. His time of 4:27.06 in the mile at the YSU Last Chance has him seeded fourth. He will also join Hurley on the DMR team that will have a great shot at earning All-PAC honors.

Last Year's Championship Performance
- The Barons placed 9th out of 11 competing teams a season ago.
- Dwayne Gethard, Luke Hurley, and Nicholas Brass led the charge by placing fifth in their events to earn points.
- The DMR placed sixth, and the 4x400 relay team placed seventh.
- The Barons did not have an athlete place in the top three in an event to earn All-PAC honors.

The Favorites
- Grove City did not earn the most first-place votes, but they edged out Geneva to sit atop this year's poll.
- The Wolverines have nine athletes seeded in the top three of their event heading into the Championship. They look to get a large amount of points from the field and their relays.
- It may come down to the 4x400 relay with the Wolverines seeded first, and the Golden Tornadoes seeded second.
